tick tock tick tock tick tock
Friday - 11pm found Ben and I at the emergency room with the Dog, who
ate the "ant plant", roots and all. We were there till 5 am and had to
come back later to pick her up... means i missed my workouts saturday
which was brutal. So I made up for it yesterday, big time.

activity with hours
Bike= 2:20;
Swim=1.5
move=5

yesterday I burned these caloriES: 1215 swimming; 2268 biking; 2268
moving. 189 driving. And this doesn't count whatever else I did...
5940. Lance burns 6500 calories every day during most stages of tour
de france. If I count all the other stuff I did yesterday, like the
little stuff... I'd be doing what lance is doing. The bad thing is
that I had a sandwitch and a fruit cup, cookie, and a malt, and a
snack bar. And that was all I ate yesterday. that means that...I ate
about 1000 cal yesterday and am about -5000 for the day. That means if
I weigh myself right now, I've probably lost 3-5 lbs. Would be
interesting to see what I actually weigh right now.

Must get more flexibe, stroner, and leaner by the first tri; must blow
myself out of the water for the last.

Helped Shailah with her resume Fri. She was sick. Hope I don't get
sick. Can't afford to get sick.

Finished moving into Ben's place this weekend, so now will have more
time and can focus on the tri stuff.

Today my personal trainer said that he can begin to see the definition
on my chest. I dunno how attractive that is in a girl. Ben is drinking
2 protein shakes a day and is bothered by the fact that my arms are
getting to be about as big as his. He is aksing me and the trainer how
much I'm bench pressing. I told the trainer not to tell him but the
trainer loves it - he said "You should have seen Ben's workout on
Friday" - he needs the push and the slight competition is giving him
that extra push. I dunno why Ben's so obsessed with it, he can bench
at least a 150 more then I can!

time to obsessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
okay... for the harbor lights tri, the distances aRE:

-800 meter swim
-13.2 mile bike
-4.0 mile run

I think I will speND:
-20 minutes on the swim. Based on swimming at a rate of 2:20 each 100
+ time for rest or whatever happens in the beginning...
-44 minutes on the bike, based on 18 MPH average. If I go harder,
it'll make the rest of the race so much easier.
-40 minutes on the run, assuming I can maintain a 10 minute mile after
all that other excersize.
-10 minutes in transition.

who came up with this torture?

18 100s with decreasing intervals - that was the main set of our swim workout today. WTF!!!! My arms are going to fall off.

It looks like this:
Friday - swam a 1/2 mile on my own
Sat - swam almost a mile in the lake
sun - 18 x 100
mon - training with Bob.

I love Bob! He's like the coolest personal trainer ever! He makes it huuurt. I think I was lifting 50 lb weights today. That's not bad for 3 weeks. Turns out I'm much weaker then I thought, and I already see a difference with my 3 sports from the extra calisthenics training. Go Bob!

I made Bob a fitness goals list. He's working on my being able to do a pullup. By the end of the year.

swimmin
today was my first time swimming in the lake. the temperature was
about 60 degrees in the water, 72 in the air, and we did about .8 of a
mile. Boy do my arms hurt. wetsuit is a lot harder on the arms. I took
a lot of breaks, but probably strung together several 75/100/50 yards.
Swam past some baby ducks with their mum. Coach says regarding
organic debree in the Lake Michigan WatER: just tell yourself, even if
it has gills or feathers, it's still a piece of wood.

70 days till the 1/2 ironman. every workout counts. every workout counts.

what happened?
i am trying to eat less... so that i get as lean as possible for the tri.

Then how do things like that happen? I run out to grab breakfast,
looking for a yogurt parfait. I come back with a strawberry filled
dunkin donuts croissant. What happened? The worst paRT: I ate the
croissant. Gross!

lifestuff
Yesterday I sort of ran my 45 minute required run for the tri
training. I skipped out on most of my training while in europe,
although we did average 8 miles and 500 steps a day. The run HURT. I
can't run in heat. I was running slow as a snail, and my heart rate
was pushing 98%! Yuck! Dunno if that's because I'm still jetlagged, or
because I took the time off, or all because of the heat... AFTER the
run, my tri coach said - uh, you are suppose to be 1.5 minutes over
your normal mile time in this heat. NOW you tell me??? Now?

I am going to try to get a running coach to improve my gate. If you
know of one, please drop me a note!

This morning I pedaled out 1/2 of my required bike ride.... 1/2 to go,
this afternoon.
